Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Fetope LLC ("FE to PE Prep", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use fetope.com and the related services (the "Service"). We are the controller of the personal information described here.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account. Your email address and password when you create an account. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google (we do not receive your Google password).
• Purchases. When you buy an access pass, payment is handled by Stripe. We receive your email address and a Stripe customer identifier and your purchase/entitlement status; we do not receive or store your full card number — your card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure payment form.
• Study activity. Your practice answers, scores, and progress, which are tied to your account so we can show your stats and tailor your experience.
• AI tutor inputs. The questions and messages you send to the AI tutor, plus the title of the page you are on (sent for context). See Section 5.
• Forms and support. If you join a waitlist, we collect your email and which exam you are interested in. If you submit an enterprise "contact sales" request, we collect your name, work email, company, and optionally your phone number, seat count, and message. If you report a question, we collect your report reason and any comment.

Information collected automatically

• IP address. We process your IP address transiently to rate-limit requests and prevent abuse. It is used in memory and is not written to a database or stored in durable logs.
• Cookies and local storage. Essential cookies plus privacy-configured Google Analytics measurement — see Section 4. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
• Operational logs. Our servers may log technical errors to operate the Service. We do not deliberately log your email, IP address, or AI-tutor content.

The Service is intended for adults; we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. See Section 11.

2. How we use your information

• Provide, operate, and secure the Service and your account.
• Process purchases and grant access to the passes you buy.
• Save your study progress and provide the AI tutor and other features.
• Respond to your requests, enterprise inquiries, and question reports.
• Send service and transactional messages (for example, email verification and receipts).
• Prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of a contract (providing the Service you purchase), our legitimate interests (securing and improving the Service), consent (where requested), and compliance with legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers ("sub-processors") that help us run the Service, and as required by law. Our current sub-processors are:

We may also disclose information to comply with law or legal process, to enforce our Terms, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we will continue to protect your information consistent with this Policy).

4. Cookies and local storage

We use strictly necessary cookies and storage, plus first-party analytics measurement. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The items we use are:

• Authentication cookies (set by Supabase) to keep you signed in.
• A preview/access cookie used to gate the site before public launch.
• Theme preference stored in your browser's local storage (light or dark mode).
• Stripe cookies set on the checkout page by Stripe for fraud prevention and to operate the payment form.
• Google Analytics cookies (names beginning with _ga) that help us understand which pages are used and how visitors find the site. We configure Google Analytics with Google signals and ad personalization disabled, so it performs measurement only — it is not used for advertising, and we do not build cross-site profiles. You can block these cookies in your browser without affecting how the Service works.

Our fonts are served from our own domain, so loading a page does not send your data to a font provider.

5. The AI tutor

When you use the AI tutor, the messages you send and the current page title are transmitted to Google's Gemini API to generate a response. We do not send Google your name, email, or account identifier, and we do not store your AI-tutor conversations on our servers. Google processes these inputs as our service provider under its paid Gemini API terms, which provide that Google does not use them to train or improve its general models and retains them only transiently to detect abuse. Even so, please do not submit confidential or sensitive personal information to the AI tutor, and treat its responses as study assistance, not professional advice.

6. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then for a reasonable period to meet legal, tax, accounting, and security obligations, after which we delete or anonymize it. Purchase records are retained as required by law. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data as described in Section 8.

7. Security and international transfers

We protect personal information with measures including encryption in transit, row-level access controls in our database, and restricting who can access data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries; where required, transfers of personal information out of the EU/UK rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights: to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; to restrict or object to certain processing; and to withdraw consent. To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We will verify your request and respond as required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

California (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

EU/UK (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the EU or UK, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Other U.S. states

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and others) have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of targeted advertising and sales; you may exercise them using the contact above.

9. Third-party links

The Service may link to third-party sites and services (for example, Stripe). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.

11. Children

The Service is intended for adults: you must be at least 18 to use it (see our Terms), and it is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or from anyone under 18.
